For higher temperature applications, Agilent recommends the High Performance Septa. Able to withstand temperatures up to 300°C with no degradation or leakage, this septa is uniquely designed for today's more demanding applications.
For temperatures up to 180 °C

Agilent recommends using PTFE/silicone septa for most headspace applications under 180 degrees Celsius. The PTFE lining provides and excellent barrier between the silicone and the solvent. Our septa are specially designed to provide minimal contamination of the headspace sample.
For temperatures up to 100 °C

A lower cost option for lower temperature applications is the PTFE lined Butyl septa. Maximum temperature of 100 °C
Agilent does not recommend storage or elevated storage temperatures when using volatile compounds because over time the septa material may be transferred into the sample.

For pressures above 45 PSI, Agilent strongly recommends using a pressure release cap to prevent vial breakage. Click here for a selection of safety release caps.
